With TB Joshua continuously astonishing the world with mind blowing healing and deliverance meetings, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to assume that there are many who seek to know the source of his works and the secret of his supernatural powers, it is in this regard we affirm that lots of spies have been sent to SCOAN at different times to decipher the prophets ways, discover the inner workings of the ministry and in the end discover the supposed hidden secret of His powers which are clearly not of this world.
One of those believed to be a spy in Scoan during his one year stay at SCOAN was Giles Hurst, he takes credit for some insulting comments against TB Joshua on the reputed critic blog of which he is an administrator and a founding father, The summary of his twisted opinion on TB Joshua is in this excerpt of his comment on TB Joshua watch.

And although we do not know who or to which government Giles Hurst volunteered his services, we have reason to believe that Giles Hurst way a typical spy sent to Scoan for the following reasons;

Giles Hurst may have pretended he was at Scoan for spiritual uplift, but his testimonies so far on tbjoshuawatch have proved otherwise, a commenter on tbjoshuawatch summarized this opinion in reply to Giles.

Insatiable Curiosity: in the words of Giles Hurst he claimed “he was the New guy who questioned everything”, including the prophet’s intimate affairs with his wife, he never said he examined things in the light of Gods word, but questioned everything, subtly asking to be trusted with important information? If this isn’t a red flag, we don’t know what it is
7. His Trip away from the Church: during Giles Hurst stay at Scoan, he asked for the permission to leave the church claiming he wanted to visit his family, we find that rather strange judging by the fact that his mother did visit him at the church, so who was he really visiting back home? Perhaps this were the times he sold out the information he acquired during his stay, on one occasion of his return he succeeded in making the UK branch source over £2,000 for him.
8. Putting his acquired information to USE: Giles made sure all the necessary details he found out about TB Joshua was published on the internet, He is without a doubt a blog administrator on TB Joshua watch and a pioneer. He may claim to have stumbled accross the blog, but we know his comments followed the blogs first article and subsequent posts were his installment.
In Summary, Giles Hurst for the above reasons is considered a potential espionage threat wherever he may be found, in whatever neighbourhood, community and Nation. Anyone with useful information on the whereabouts of this Man with confirmed suspicious activity should please report to the appropriate authorities. The Ministry of SCOAN will do well to beware of spies masquerading as disciples in their midst.

I read in tbjoshuawatch that a letter some one sent to scoan concining their youtube post got to them, the ministry should take this serious if true they recieve such an email, i strongly believed that their are still foreign spies among prophet disciple.

Hello ckatz, every organization including the church has its own privacy concerns, there were certain things even Jesus expected his own disciples not to reveal, its not an issue of having something to hide, but having a spy in an organization masquerading as a sincere member poses a huge threat to the security and safety of all the members, seriously don’t tell us you can’t figure this much.

Any spy worth half his salt would blend in far better than this Giles fellow did, and if SCOAN was a true Christ-centred church, who cares if there is a spy there? So what? Whatever happened between Giles and the people at SCOAN to inspire the story about him being a spy, I’m sorry that it all ended this way. Giles went to the church with the best of intentions and was very positive about the whole experience to his family. Yes he did serve with the British Army in Afghanistan, with courage and distinction, but as for him being a spy, it would appear that the young people at SCOAN have been reading too many Tom Clancy novels when they should have confined themselves to loftier works. If you want your allegations to be taken seriously then I suggest you stick to hard evidence, rather than risible reasons such as “age” or “insatiable curiosity”. By all means state your case, but don’t make laughing stocks of yourselves. (And no, I don’t expect you to post this – it is just for your eyes.)
Hi Melvin, going by your last name Hurst, Its most likely you’re related to Giles, so its only normal for you to defend him and try to cover his misdeeds both in Scoan and on tbjoshuawatch. I find the bit about coming up with solid evidence quite interesting, because seldom has any spy being identified with solid evidences at least if they’re good at what they do, they tend mostly not to leave a trail, but that doesn’t mean they can’t show off signs once in a while which is what we’ve picked up on to label him a potential spy, the only hard convincing evidence to you would be perhaps torturing him to confession and we’re not in any capacity to effect that; so we leave that to the appropriate authorities so concerned.

Full marks for posting my original comment in the first place and again for deducing that I am indeed Giles’s father. It’s a pity that you haven’t applied the same detective skills in your “expose” of Giles’s spying activities. You seem to imply that not being able to find solid evidence against him is sufficient proof that he is a spy. It’s an Interesting argument, almost as good as your claim about his being in the “right” age range, but the phrase “Catch 22″ comes to mind. You also seem disappointed that you are not in a position to extract a confession from Giles by torture, and to condone this action by “appropriate authorities”. If so, then shame on you. I can only refer you to the voice of compassion and sanity expressed by Alex in a related post.

Jasper, Yes, I’m proud of the man Giles has turned out to be. He is honest and honourable, and was deeply upset when he was not sent an invitation letter to return to SCOAN as he had desired. I have no reason to doubt what he has written on your blog. Perhaps you should look inwards instead of attacking outwards, and ask yourself if there is anything that needs to be done about the organization which has grown up around TB Joshua.
I visited SCOAN in 2005 and was impressed with his sincerity and compassion. My wife visited the church several times for healing, but when she became seriously ill in the middle of 2009 she wrote repeatedly to SCOAN to ask for an invitation letter to visit the church for healing, since as you are aware an entry visa for Nigeria cannot be issued without such a letter. My wife died in November 2009.
I cannot believe that TB Joshua would have refused an invitation letter had he known of the request, and I can only conclude that those around him were so poisoned by their desire to get back at the “spy” Giles, that they took it upon themselves deliberately to withhold the invitation. This will be to their everlasting shame, and they will have to stand before God one day and answer for their actions. May He forgive them, because I can’t.
